If you have questions regarding the Jaycees, please take a look at the list below and if your question isn't answered, please contact Connecticut Jaycees' President Cathy Dempsey or any other Jaycees listed on our contacts page.
Q: What does Jaycees mean?
A: Jaycees is short for Junior Chamber. The Connecticut Jaycees and our chapters are the local side of the of the United States Junior Chamber and the Junior Chamber International.
Q: How do I join the Jaycees?
A: To join the Jaycees, visit our join the Jaycees page and download the membership application and mail it in, or sign up online and once your application is approved, you will be billed.
Q: What kinds of leadership opportunities are in the Jaycees?
A: There are a multitude of programs and opportunities for young leaders to gain the experience they crave. Each chapter has their own hierarchy, including project chairs, committee members and even involvement on the chapter’s board of directors.
Q: Are there meetings?
A: Each chapter hosts a monthly membership meeting to discuss what is going on in the chapter. Membership meetings are a great place to meet new people and learn about the opportunities available with the organization and around the state. Check with your chapter to find out when their meetings are held or view the Connecticut Jaycees' calendar for upcoming state events..
Q: What do you mean by "leadership training"?
A: All aspects of our organization are devoted to polishing the leadership skills of our members. The programs and events that we run give us experience with project management, people management, budgeting and the list goes on. Involvement with a project provides the member with valuable experience that can be applied to not only their jobs, but their life as well.
Q: I joined….so now what?
A: GET INVOLVED! Find out when your next chapter or state meeting is and plan on attending. Also sign up for your chapter’s newsletter and visit their Website. The state also has their E-mail newsletter, the monthly Starting Line and of course, their Website www.ctjaycees.org.
